Wealthminder
Wealthminder was a start-up that matched potential customers with Financial Advisors. I worked on the full redesign and of their new website. I lead discovery, user interviews, design, and testing to create the web application for Financial Advisors to use to track clients and their investments.
Problem
To create an application that allowed customers to find, match, and chat with financial advisors that best fits their investments strategies. This application will also help financial advisors easily find new customers with little cost to advertising.
Approach
We started by talking with financial advisors, asking how they currently find new customers. We learned how they try to sell their services and approach new financial plans for new customers. We also interviewed several probable customers on how they currently invest, if they think they need a financial advisor, and how they think they could find one if they need one. We found that there wasn't a lot of avenues to find the right financial advisors for customers. The customer has to reach out to each firm to get paired up. Our app would mitigate that struggle and pair customers with advisors through a few questions and a simple request.
Outcome
We planned out several functions that our application can handle for financial advisors. They could oversee their clientel at a high level, set investments for each client, and set up an action plan for their client to help save more money. We created a pairing questionaire that allowed customers to fill out exactly what outcome they are looking for by hiring a financial advisor. It could be saving for a house, improving returns in their 401k, or even getting started with a 401k or brokerage account. This request then went out to several financial advisors, and the first five to respond could start a conversation with the prospective customer. Through those conversations, the customer can then decide which advisor fits their needs the best.
